In partnership with Kigali City, AB Bank Rwanda Ltd has organized a tree planting event on 17th December 2016.
AB Bank employees will be planting fruits trees in Rwakivumu Village, Taba cell, Kanyinya sector, with the help of the local community and local authorities. Improving the lives of clients and Rwandans financially and socially is at the heart of AB Bank’s activities, with social and environmental responsibility being one of the bank’s core values. Instead of holding a staff Christmas party, this year, the management and staff chose to celebrate the festive season by making a difference in the Kanyinya community.
Trees are a vital component of our environment, and more so in Rwanda where they are instrumental in preventing/reducing soil erosion. This is the first ever event in Kigali where fruit trees are planted in mass, and we are glad that in addition to protecting the environment, the trees will also provide a source of healthy food to the Kanyinya Sector community. Trees will be planted in the land of different community members, who will individually ensure the healthy growth of the trees.
